Darian “D. Silk” Sims, born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, has over 16 years of educational experience and over 15 years of professional working experience.  The past 6 years his working experience has been entrepreneurial in a field that he loves and is currently evolving into a passion that he touched on in education.  Customer Service, Contract and Retail Security Management and now Broadcasting are what make a very interesting background for very interesting man.
As a product of the Chicago Public School System, Darian graduated from Arthur Dixon Elementary with one of the focuses being in choir and drama.  He went on to receive his high school diploma from Hyde Park Career Academy graduating in the top 10 percentile of his class and majoring in Radio-TV.  During his time at Hyde Park, he was an active member of the Radio-TV Club, the Journalism program and Varsity Baseball Team 3 out of 4 years.  He also worked for 89.3 WKKC as an on air personality during the Friday Night Network Connection.  Darian then went on to graduate from SIUC receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinematography and Minoring in Theater.  He is currently working for himself as a Karaoke Host and DJ 5 nights a week in bars and restaurants throughout the Chicagoland area and also enrolled in The Illinois Media School receiving an accredited certification in Radio, Television and Internet Broadcasting.  Please welcome to your team and professional working family… Darian “D. Another great show in the books!  We revisited last week’s show, The State of Old School vs New School. We talked about the Weight Loss Challenge coming soon! We discussed the WORLD CHAMPION CHICAGO CUBS beginning their defense of their championship crown.  And of course we dove feet first into the State of SOCIAL MEDIA today!  We discussed the case of the young lady who was sexually assaulted by 6 young men that posted it using Facebook Live.  All this plus much MUCH more on the Darian America Show!  Tune in each and every Monday from Noon till 2PM!  See you next week!

Today’s show was about Friendship!  What makes a good friend?  What are the breaking points to make you no longer friends?  Well, we learned the 3 key points of what will make you fall out of favor are: Don’t mess with a persons money, their lover, and their kids!

The Darian American Blog – Fraternities 

Great show today!  We talked about what’s trending today!  The Jadediah Brown story from facebook where he went live on facebook and put a gun to his head threatening to shoot!  Wow… We also talked about Kevin Durant’s return to OKC to take on his ex-teammate now bitter rival Russel Westbrook as they did battle for the 1st time in Oklahoma!  And finally we covered the State of Fraternities, Sororities and Social Clubs.  Do they still have the same meaning today as they did when they were 1st invented?  Great call ins and just a fun topic to discuss!  See you next week on the Darian America show!  The United States Champion of Justice!  Can’t wait to hear from you!

The Darian America Blog (Feb. 5, 2017) 

Today’s show was HOT!  We kicked off the show paying tribute to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots as our Superbowl Champions of 2016/2017. We also paid tribute to one of my favorite months… Black History Month!  Then we went into fixing the State OF…. Love from the MALES perspective!  We had a great call in and of coarse I gave some of my tips and response to the question “how does a man know when he’s in love!”

THE DARIAN AMERICA SHOW BLOG 

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  The show started of hot!  We talked about New Year’s Resolutions.  We welcomed in our new President Elect Donald Trump.  He wasn’t my candidate however; he’s the new commander in chief so we might as well give him a chance.  The state we covered was the State of Manners!  We talked about everything from charm school, to chivalry and even sportsmanship and does manners belong in the sports world.
